Hawai‘i Scholars for Education, Social Justice and Diversity (HSESJD) is a volunteer group of researchers in Hawai‘i who conducts, reviews, and disseminates research related to education and social justice in Hawai‘i. Our goal is to use research to promote dialogue and create an informed consciousness about public education in our State. We partner with educators, educational groups, and nonprofit organizations.
We added Diversity to our name in February 2025 to emphasize our commitment to diversity and equitable access in public education in light of Trumpʻs directives that directly contradict the values, goals and traditions of public education. We welcome others to join us in what will be a contentious but necessary struggle over the next four years.
